Director of Career Communities & Career Development

Reporting to and with the support of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Career Development and Education, the Director of Career Communities and Development will have the following goals: (1) develop a new career advising model for campus that supports early career exploration, Career Communities advising, identity and affinity groups, graduate and professional student advising, and specialized support, including career counseling; (2) build the career advising infrastructure to support the career advising model, including creating the organizational chart and writing position descriptions; (3) transition existing staff into new roles with appropriate support and hiring new staff; (4) supervise the Career Advising and Communities team, a group of approximately 25 professionals, setting annual goals, evaluating performance, and supporting career development; and (5) develop a unit-level strategic plan in support of the career center’s goals and regularly assess and report on progress.
